Beaufort County have officials have confirmed that are considering a "buyout program" for some soon to retire public employees, according to a report issued on WTOC's website.
The prospective measure is part of an across the board effort to reduce spending that could save the county upwards of $900,000. Those figures are based on the county's expectation that half of the estimated 35 people who are eligible for the program will accept a buyout.
